Description
The enclosed space, accessible via two well-crafted staircases, extends longitudinally, with diagonal natural light filtering from above. To create a balanced spatial perception, the area was segmented into three zones. To create a balanced spatial perception, the area has been divided into three zones. The central zone features large surfaces and voluminous seating, flanked by tables and chairs lining the perimeter walls. Adjacent to this are two additional areas furnished with tables, chairs, wall shelving and artist’s easels. The furnishings in these areas vary in shape and color, with each element being custom designed, prioritizing the use of wood in appropriate tones.
The overall layout of the exhibition follows western stylistic standards, immersing the visitor in the study of Italian art and its workshops, while incorporating nods to local traditions in the use of materials and craftsmanship.
Careful attention has been paid to lighting, with numerous luminaires evenly distributed along the walls and additional floor lamps illuminating the workspaces and corridors.
To enhance the natural brightness of the classroom, light colors were chosen to accentuate the spaciousness of the environment. The existing flooring was fully retained in accordance with the client’s specifications.
The project also included the detailed design of all furniture, developed through to production.
At the heart of the project is usability for children, fostering an environment where they can freely explore and express their creativity.
